Fault Codes 4206 & 4201

I'm getting these front left & right speed sensor faults (signal inplausible). Any idea what these are? For some reason I can't see to clear them.

I saw a year old post referencing the PSM control but no replies.

Hit me back if anyone knows.

THANKS!

PSM Fault code 4206 -- Speed sensor, front left
Incorrect signal from speed sensor

Possible cause of fault
- Toothed ring/speed sensor soiled or damaged, wheel-bearing play too great
- Pick-up due to faulty shield
- Speed sensor faulty
- Control unit faulty

The car may trigger a fault code if the rear or front wheels are activated separately during a certain time and speed. This can happen during emissions tests for example.

Do you mean you clear them but they do not clear?

Or you clear them and as soon as you start the car they come back?

Or when you drive 20 feet?

or when you drive 20 minutes?

If instant, I'd look at wiring. The question on tire size is a good one too.

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm running 235/35R19 fronts and 305/30R19 rears and the codes just popped up out of nowhere when I was just sitting in traffic (and not moving at the time). They won't clear at all so it's not a matter of erasing and having them pop back up. Also the dash is showing as a CEL.

Also I have the front driveshaft disengaged. Could that be it??

How does your brake peddle feel? ABS working? Front drive disconnected should not effect it. Have you removed the front wheels yet and had a look?

You have the front driveshaft disengaged, but still have the front diff and axle installed correct? The pickup ring is part of the front axle stub and the sensors read off that. You might pull the sensors out of the wheel carrier and clean them up (they will build up with junk over time) and see if that helps.
