This is a beast they must have modified the gearbox

 

What makes me think that the new standard Carrera based (non-GT1) turbo motor in the 2010 997tt could not come close to both the output, and at the duration of time required, to achieve the 243 mph?

 

Well it shouldn't matter. Where can you hit those speeds anyways? It's more like a big ***** competition.

 

It is a technical feat.... Germans like to show their engineering prowess and to produce this level of torque for the required time to generate these speeds shows a high level of expertise... oh and it helps sell a few of their cheaper packages also
