Wheel color confusion: Anthracite/Gun metal/Charcoal...
Search didn't help but just wondering how much color variation there is between the (Anthracite/Gunmetal/Charcoal) colors and what finish would you all prefer/recommend ....Gloss/Satin/Textured
The wheels would be going on a Carrara White TT....Please post picts where ever possible to get a better idea.
Thanks

Hi,
All of the colors your mentioned look very similar when looking at pics online but I'm sure they're significantly different in person. For reference have a look at the P40's in charcoal in the fs section.

Attached are few of mine in brushed gunmetal

They are all just fancy names for dark gray and I don't think there is any standard differentiating one color from the other. In general, I personally think of the shades going from light to dark in this order: gunmetal, anthracite, charcoal. But, keep in mind that each manufacturer will define the color themselves so Brand X anthracite might be quite different from Brand B anthracite.
If you want to hide the brake dust or dirt, the textured finishes in one of the dark grays is awesome. If you have PCCB's and want a little more sparkle, then gloss is the way to go. I have a set of Champion wheels in gloss black and a set of HRE's in textured satin finish. I like both for different reasons/applications.

I am going to be sticking with the OEM wheels though.

As if you would diagree
Hey Quick - Tom's wheels have a hint of bronze in the finish compared to the HRE wheels shown.
Those white TT's are looking good!

Go with one of the wheels Lon posted. You can barely see a black wheel on a white car or any car, and quite frankly it looks like the ricer mobiles that in most cases had a steel wheel they painted black. It screams "my wheels look like $#$@ so I want to hide them under the blacked out concept"

Tom, That's ^ exactly what I am thinking... This is the set up that I am trying to duplicate but I now think the wheels on truspeed car looks quite a bit darker for my taste.
I am going to be sticking with the OEM wheels though.

No complaints from me Yeah the bronze shows more in direct sunlight, pretty cool actually.

If bronze is more your think, we have Satin Bronze or Gloss Bronze. Also we have a Satin Titanium finish (gold/bronze).
Honestly, whatever finish you are after, we can do it. With our in-house finishing and powder coating, we can handle almost any request.
