Need help fitting turbo rear bumper to C4S

Hi All:
Bought OEM 997 turbo rear bumper after being told by seller of aftermarket wings for Porsches it would fit my C4S, but facing obstacles and wondered if anybody has experience....
  1. Per attached pictures, there is no attachment point on the car where the bottom of the bumper meets it. Shop trying to install it suggested turbo must have some kind of pan or tray below exhaust for connecting the bumper (there are tabs on the turbo bumper).
  2. There is a molded bracket (looks like it supports the original C4S bumper) that interferes where the intercooler slots meet the C4S.
Anybody know any workarounds or parts I could order that would make this bumper fit, or did I get bad advice and am wasting time and money? Am I better off selling the bumper and is there an aftermarket bumper made for the C4S which would give the turbo look?

Much appreciated, Fred

looks like you have to take the heat shields off and modify them or buy turbo shields, and the back may need some re engineering too and the tips will have to be rerouted
Thats the price for trying to do custom work. Its custom, so you have to figure out what has to be done.

I have a turbo rear bumper on my 4s and you do need to buy the turbo heat shields...it is way easier than modifying your stockers. You might want to paint the heat shield as well but some matte krylon paint. Good luck

Update

Once I found the right body shop, it went smoothly. The key is the shop must be comfortable with custom work, and not get excited or raise the price dramatically when adjustments need to be made.

Ended up having to:
  1. Cut and bend the stock muffler so the tips lined up.
  2. Fabricate attachment point for bottom of bumper
  3. Remove some heat shield and paint the balance flat black.
  4. Install black screen behind openings in bumper (as heat shield right behind).
Sounds complicated but it wasn't with the right guy. If you live in the Northeast I recommend Austin's Auto Works in New Milford, CT. Very easy to deal with and reasonably priced on any custom Porsche body work.

If anyone wants pics, I will post. Came out beautifully with wing and turbo bumper and other than side intercooler slots the car looks identical to a turbo, and in my opinion looks better than stock C4S Cab. Fred

I will take more detailed pics, including underside of car in next day or so. I left the front bumper stock, as it was the rear of the C4S that always bothered me. Regards, Fred

Nice! Well done. You're right. It's all about finding the right body shop who is willing to think outside the box and comfortable with doing custom work.

nice work, Fred. I'm in Boston and may give your referred auto body shop a call. what was the price for the TT rear bumper and the labor for custom work? I have a 2011 (997.2) C4 and thinking about doing the same thing. that or go with precision porsche's GT3 front and rear bumpers as they have the air vents.. thanks in advance
