BBQ (Caution: Pictures can cause emotional distress)

Hi all, was just getting around to finishing up some stuff for my new DD. Just got it 4 weeks ago, drove it for < 500 miles (2006 997 C4S 3x Black)
  • New 19" MRR RW5 Wheels
  • Clear side markers
  • Polish/clean tail pipes
  • Transit Blu Bluetooth (last item)
  • Gundo hack (was trying to find Chris Sterling last night)

The only picture I had

By lunch today, this is what was left

Wife just got home with groceries, parked her Lexus RX330 (06) in garage. She noticed smoke and thought the car overheated. She called my daughter out to the garage to help her with the groceries. She stepped out and saw flames underneath the car. Daughter came out and saw the Lexus was on fire! Daughter called 911 and got everybody out of the house and family is safe.

The fire was fairly isolated in the garage so the rest of the house had minimal damage. The only thing that saved the rest of the house was my daughter was able to shut the door between the garage and house before she ran out (walls and door fire-rated 2 hours). Fireman said if that door was open, it would been a lot worse.

2006 Lexus RX 330. Had it for a while so not sure what caused it to go up in flames

Yup, there was some serious heat. The garage door was open too when the fire started on the underside of the Lexus so it still got pretty hot

They are just "things" fairly easily replaced. The fact your family was not injured or that your house was further damaged is a blessing. But, yeah, hard to see a nice Porsche toasted like that.

I am speechless.

Well, almost. Let me add glad you and your family are safe.

It is a bit of good luck the rest of the house spared.

Not even any smoke/water damage I take it?
