VRtuned 981 Boxster Spyder
We were lucky enough to have this beautiful 981 Boxster Spyder back in our shop again, you may remember Jeff and his Spyder from the
he recently installed a few weeks ago.
The Porsche 981 Boxster Spyder is absolutely stunning and a far cry from the original 986 Boxster. Unlike most of the other new Porsche’s, the 981 Spyder retains a 6 speed manual transmission. The Spyder is equipped with what some use to do as a conversion on the past 987 Cayman and Boxsters, a 3.8L engine. The 3.8L produces 375bhp and 310 ft/lbs of torque which is quite impressive for a car that weighs about 3100lbs. So how can you make your 981 Boxster Spyder reach the 400 horsepower mark? Add a nice exhaust system and a VR Tuned ECU flash. The SDI9 ECU can only be done via the OBDII port. VR Tuned has the proper tools to access an original file to create a new tuned calibration for your Porsche 981. Giving you more torque, better throttle response, and stronger pull to redline or past for those that want their rev limiter raised. The tuning allows the 6 speed manual trans car to come alive and with the addition of an exhaust, the sound from the 3.8L engine is pure sex.
