where is the best dealer to get a used 997tt
I plan to get a used 997tt, probably 08' next year. since most of you have better knowledge and experience, where should I get it? I live in Vancouver, BC.

I don't have knowledge on any porsche yet. if they are same, i'd prefer to get a 07. I thought with 08, it just gives me a year+ warranty. I found someone here, they told me they can help me with every steps to import a car. They charge me 5000$ for the service, is it easy to import a car from US? what do you mean by 80kX30%? exchange rate? our dollar is almost par to US$ again.

Taxes will be the same whether it is U.S. or Canada (except for GST if it is a private deal in Ontario, for now). So, with the dollar virtually at par, I think you might look at a factor of 10% or less in most cases, including the hassle factor.
I brought mine over in 2007, which was before the recall letter hassle, and it was quite simple, RIV fee of 200, duty of 5%, GST at the border, PST at the license office.

What's the recall letter hassle? I did a bit research in the website. the only issue is the Canadian dealership charge more to do the inspection for warranty purpose? I'm gonna visit Barrier Porsche maybe next month.

No inspection required to get warranty coverage in Canada. The only reason these "inspections" are done are to get you a recall clearance letter from Porsche. It's easier to get this from a dealer in the US.

ok. I did a bit research on the price, and a calculation. a 07' tt with 15000km is about 90k$US, plus 30% of addtional fees (duty, tax, inspection, RIV, etc), that's about 117000$US X 1.02exchange rate = 119340$CAN. that's actually more expensive than what if I buy in Canada? anything wrong with my research or calculation? lots of ppl in this forum said used porsche in US is much cheaper since the economy is not so good there. and our dollar is almost par to US$.

I'm not sure where the 30% came from, but you need to factor in the following:
Duty: 6.1%
GST: 5%
PST: 7% (in your case)
Assuming you buy a US$90K 07 Turbo, the duty will be US$5490. GST will be US$4774.50 and PST will be US$6684.30 and the grand total will be US$106,498.80. The only other fees you need to worry about are the RIV Import fees and the inspection fees. The RIV fees are in the C$200 range and the inspection fees should be about C$100-$200. After the exchange rate, the grand total for the cost of the 07 Turbo would be about C$109.5K.
If buying in Canada, average cost for a 07 Turbo seems to be in the C$115-C$120K range. Taking a mid-point($117.5K) and adding GST + PST to it would end up costing you approximately $131.6K. You could save the GST if you bought it privately rather than a dealer, but we'll ignore that for now.
Overall your savings will be in the C$22K in the above scenario, which is a serious amount of change. IMHO, it's well worth the effort to look into the US to buy a used Turbo.

well now with the Dollar almost at Par its more like 20-22%... You also goota factor in the Shipping Cost, if you dont drive the Car over... 997 TT are down to 110k Range now in Canada... But i still think its well worth to buy in the US because there are soo many to look at...

I agree you may have to factor in the shipping cost, but I've found that the used car dealers are willing to negotiate more in the US since the supply is higher!
