Durametric = lower suspension?

I sent a note to Durametric on a whim to ask if the Durametric tool can lower my Cayenne with air suspension. This was the response. Encouraging. I have not tried it yet ... but may this weekend. If anyone wants to give it a shot and report back, that would be great.

Thank you for contacting Durametric. The ride height of your Cayenne can likely be adjusted from within Durametric by using the "Adaptations" function of the level control module. Unfortunately, we are not aware of the exact procedure to perform this operation. We strongly suggest referencing a reputable service manual for your car. Please contact us if we can be of any further assistance.

In the Actual Values section of leveling. You just need to change the coding and then write the changes. Lowering or lifting.

It says front wheels ... is there a section for the rear wheels. Also what does each number mean ... I guess I change the second number to a 4 and my car is 5mm lower at each level. Wow. that is a nice feature of the Durametric.

if you scroll down in the menu you will get to the rest of the coding.
If you want to lower -5mm then you would use code 14411 Then write changes.

Ah ... seems pretty straight forward. Have you tried it? Ride quality? Thanks very much for the info!

Yes, I messed around with it but after I already lowered the truck. I use lowering links.

I had lowering links. Mine drove a little too rough.

If you use the durametric/links/lowering module or any other way of manipulating the suspension you will get the same effect. No matter how you lower it 5mm, it's still 5mm no matter what product you use. With the adjustable links I can fine tune it rather then being preset to whatever a module sets it to. 5-10-15-20mm etc of lowering. Does it take more time, yes, but I dont mind

Let's say I like my ride height at 31.25 from ground to fender but all the electronic units put me at 32in at normal ride height. And in low ride height it puts me at 30.5 with electronic lowering setting. But with the links I'm at 30.75 at low setting. This is just an example.

I prefer to have an air gauge like on my custom airbag suspensions and set it at 90psi for normal driving. 85psi for little low sport ride, etc....these are tapered sleeve bags so psi could be different. Again just quick examples.

I got the Durametric and FVD Tune from Greenmotorsport at the same time. With the Durametric I flashed in the FVD Tune. Most of the service and some coding can be done.

I tried this last night. It seemed to work. Make sure you go into the codes section of level control.

Fak.......

Hi, i jacked my car (2004 cayenne S) up with out turning of the air suspension & it seems to ride with the back right an inch(maybe 2) higher than the rest of the car.

so.... i am now attempting to do calibrate my suspension with the Durametric tool (6.204 software)

During the calibration process the car lowers its self then will not raise & the compressor will not engage to raise the vehicle.

The engine is off & i have a charger attached to the battery, no power low alarms, 11.6 V at the terminal.

Any advice at this point would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Dim

11.6 volts is not enough. I would start your engine and let it idle. You can calibrate the air suspension while it's running.

This is indeed very helpful. Where did you guys get the codes? And their meanings? 14411 seems way too arbitrary for me.
