My New 2012 Cayenne

My New 2012 Cayenne
In early September, I decided to trade in my 2011 Cayenne in for a 2012 model. I got a terrific trade-in allowance and decided even though Blue/Beige combo looks nice, but keeping clean was a major chore. I had to give up the truck in early December and hope and prayed for mild weather and no snow. Just was informed by the dealer that my 2012 Cayenne was in port and should be able to pick it up before the end of January.
Build as follows:
Cayenne V6
Meteor Grey/Black leather interior
Cayenne S III wheel (18")
Bose Audio Package
Premium Plus Package
14 way power seats
Lane Change Assist
PLDS
Power dimming mirrors
Moonroof
Navigation with reversing camera
Heated Multifunction Steering Wheel
Heated and Ventilated Seats
Servotronic
8 speed tiptronic with auto on/off
I will take advantage of the mid-year changes including the clock on the dash, the improved breaks and the convenient door locks. Can't wait to get my new truck!

Congrats. Enjoy your new Cayenne. I'm loving my V6! Make sure to post pics when you can.
can anyone confirm that that's the case?
If so, retrofit???????? Suncoast, help us out here!!!
Just looking on Porsche's site, and they say the following:
"All Cayenne models have internally vented discs all around, ensuring consistent performance during heavy use. The front-disc dimensions (diameter/thickness) are 13.78/1.34 inches on the Cayenne, 14.17/1.42 inches on the Cayenne S and Cayenne S Hybrid, and 15.35/1.50 inches on the Cayenne Turbo. All models have six-piston monobloc aluminum brake calipers at the front and four-piston equivalents at the rear."

I spoke to the general sales manager, the Cayenne V6 brakes were adjusted as a complaint on the JD Power Survey to make them squeal less. From another post, it stated that the brakes are now the same as in the Cayenne S.

This is what exactly I was told by the service manager:
A: clock from panamera on dash (no chrono function)
B: lock/unlock in doors to addition to console
C: Rotors from the S model (14.17" 1.42" thick versus the 13.78"/1.34" on previous)
they said something else about the brakes as well, but i don't remember specifics.... something about noise problems that they adjusted. __________________

If you were looking for a retrofit for the V6 to the S brakes we can certainly look into this for you.
PM me your info and as soon as we get anything I can let you know.

Thanks Ryan. Can you first confirm whether the 2012 958 V6 brakes have changed from the 2011 958 V6?

Well, I am not sure...
I looked in the catalog and it says the black caliper gets a specific rotor. The silver caliper a different part number but same size? Then red gets a bigger rotor and last is the yellow for PCCB.
Not sure if there will be something else in the next PET update or not.
Nothing about years models or anything.

OP: I noticed you have a Q5 as well. We're considering the 3.2L Q5 vs the Cayenne V6. Any comments? Thanks in advance. Our 958 build would be:
Exterior Color Black A1
Interior in Black MA
Deletion of Model Designation 0NA
Trailer Coupling without Removable Ball Joint 1D6
Porsche Entry & Drive 4F6
Servotronic 1N3
18" Cayenne S III Wheel C1Q
8-way power seats Q1G

Yes, my lady has the Q5. Overall, rides more like a tall A4. The quattro is fantastic. Just right for my lady and to run errands. The 3.2 l engine is very reliable. It is just too small for me. The 958 Cayenne is just so refined, the interior is better and it is larger, the width and height is more of a Q7, but has no third row. The ride is more luxurious and there is more space than the Q5. The towing capacity is greater. I think that the 3.6 L engine, has sufficient power and better mpg than the 8 cylinder for what I plan to do with the Cayenne.
