Track tires for 2011 gt3rs.

I'm currently running hoosier r6. I love them but the fade too quickly for my liking and are getting expensive. I was wondering if anyone can recommend another tire that will give me more life and possibly save a few bucks. I was thinking nitro or toyo...I know these may be slower but I'm fine with that. Thoughts? Any other tire recommendations? Thanks.

Hey Big Al,

Yes, R6 are gone after 3 days and vary on the way out too much for my liking..

Best bet at the moment is Nitto NT1 245 front and the cheap still available Toyo RA1 335 rear...

Cheap r comp tires that are good don't exist for 18 or 19" gt3. They use to in Toyo ra1....Toyo r888 are just ok and Nitto NT01 don't come in proper front to rear overal diameter sizing....unless you want to use Nitto up front and big 335 RA1 in rear.

Wouldn't it be better just to go nitro all around?

Also right now I'm running 345/35/18 in the rear and 255/35/18 in the front...in ra1 would the right size for the rear be 335/30/18 and nitto 245/30/18?

Thanks

Everyone is "fine" with going slower until their ego says "that 996 GT3 on Hoosier's isn't going to pass me again."

I say go up the chain and go for R100s rather than down the chain to less grippy. Just sayin'

I took the cups off and am running Nittos on my car. It drives great. I needed an all weather tire since I drive my RS daily.

Trackcar - Since the compounds are suppose to be the same am I not better off just getting NTO1s all around - The tread pattern for the toyo is totaly different the Nitto
