New to Porsche
I finally bought a Porsche! I have several porsche fanatics around me and I've derided them for years, being a Ferrari nut.
The CGT appeared at our local dealer and it looked like no Porsche I had ever seen. They wanted crazy money for it a few months ago ($799k!!!).
I told them I would be back when they regained their senses and a soft landing in the real world. That happened last week and brought it home on the weekend.

Alex if you have some time and after you've put some miles in the CGT, we would love to hear your thoughts on the clutch and lauching the car and how it compares to the F40. There has been some unhappy owners who are now selling or cancelling their CGT order after actually driving it.

I actually registered on FerrariChat just to read your driving description of the CGT. I found it refreshingly straight forward and a breath of fresh air regarding the operation of the clutch and engine combo.
Mine is scheduled for delivery in about six months.

CGT clutch
I've posted some impressions re the clutch elsewhere on this forum, but to reiterate:
The CGT clutch initially has an "on-off" feel to it, but the reality after some urban driving is that it is the free revving nature of the engine that causes the stalls everyone is talking about. The clutch is just fine and anyone who has driven manual tranny cars will adapt very quickly. The problem lies in the throttle revving the engine too far, which results in the driver coming off the throttle as he lets the clutch out.
What is required here is a driving school refresher, not a different clutch.
I love the CGT and I have no trouble driving it in slow stop 'n go traffic. Those guys cancelling orders or trying to return their cars would be far better off in an SLR with its ho-hum slushbox.

The car is everything as advertised. The acceleration is stunning. Similar to the F40 in the sense of speed, but more seamless in the CGT. The F40 explodes at 3,500 RPM as the boost comes on and you hold on for dear life. The CGT comes on strong from the first application of throttle. They both run to 100MPH in no time. I'me plugging in the Escort G-Timer as soon as I can set up a power source in the F40. The power source in the CGT is in the glove box which is kind of awkward for a radar detector or G Timer, but I've installed an extension cord which works just fine.
