Hre Wheels

which HRE wheel do you prefer or is the best in your opinion on the 996. And also please post a good or bad experience with this company if you have already bought HRE before.

Any information would be very useful!

Angry

The set I bought did not fit on the front ( They were made for a GT2 not a TT) so they had to get sent back. They also took over a month to deliver when they promised two weeks. I had to send all four rims back to have them trued becasue they would not balance. I returned them on July 30th and still do not have them back. The shop that is doing some work on my car said this is not the first time this has happen with HRE. Just my experaince.

540Rs all the way. I have them on my TT and love them. Also had HRE 547s on my M5 and am planning on getting 647s on my RR.

Both of my HRE experiences have been TERRIBLE.
First:
Ordered 545R's and was told 3-4 weeks. I had a show 6 weeks out so I figure I am fine....WRONG. Wheels arrived 2 days after the show!!!!
Second:
Ordered my 845R's (currently on the car) through Peter@Wheel Experts. Couldn't be more happy with Peter and his company however things fell out of his hands when after 4 weeks HRE decided to call and tell me my chrome lips would not be ready for 2-3 more weeks... Again I had a show in a week or 2 and could not risk not having wheels at all so we were able to agree they would send me the wheels with polished lips. When the lips were ready (in 2-3 weeks) I would send them back and they would be replace all on HRE's dime (GREAT SERVICE). However 3 months went by before I finally called and found out the lips were ready. Mike is a really nice guy, but the company has just never done me right....

I do not like the 540 (non R series) as I prefer flat to stepped lips...
I had the 542Rs on my TT...At the time the 840R series was not out. If I could do it again, I would go for the 847R
Wheels a=of course are personal but I believe HRE are sonme of the best built wheels and have an established brand name (not ghetto)

I currently have HRE 540R wheels on the car and I'm more then satisfied with them. If I'm going to change over to something else, I might go for the all black Techart look populrized by Shank and a certain black tt owner who really changed my opinion on black wheels on a black car.

I second that!!!!! Peeling, poor customer service, you name it. Bought four sets and had no end of problems. Would never buy HRE's ever again.

I prefer the 540R series, although, my favorites are the 542R, 543R and 545R. It seems crazy to me to have a 3 piece wheel that looks like a one piece wheel, so, I do not care much for the 840R series.

I second that, I hated black wheels on black cars, but, pics of the black turbo with Shank's/Ron's old all black techarts is hot!

I ordered mine few weeks ago and they just start making it because they had problems with their inner barrel parts. So another 4 weeks for me to wait before shipping winter is coming...
