New (102 miles) 2005 CTT for 79K: Should I buy?

My GT2 was dinged this weekend and I had to take her to the dealership to be repaired (one of the best paint guys in town works there).

While I was there, my wife and I looked at the Cayenne TT's even though I am/was pretty much set on buying a late year (alcantara headliner) 2004 CTT w/ 27.5K miles for 53K.

The sales manager had a loaded 2005 in exactly the colors I wanted that had never been titled. It has only 102 miles on it. Its retail was 98K but he was willing to sell it for 79K and CPO (for a total of 5 years and eight months/60K miles) for an extra 1.9K. It would also include the tire package.

80K is really more than I can afford. However, is this CTT a better deal than the 2004 for 53K

Thanks.

Shamus, thanks.

No, that is not the same car. But very interesting!

Lets assume that the car does not have "a history"...is it worth it? And obviously the question is, how does a 2 year old 2005 not have any miles on it?

Spoke to my dealer today and he advised me they are discounting the new '06 'S' 10K and the 'TT' 20K.

there should be more of a discount as far as I'm concerned.

I agree, 80K still seems high, especially considering the '08's are hitting dealers.

I also agree that there should be more of a discount on the 2005 CTT... But I would suggest to just pass on it... You're gonna feel like it's really dated once you see the new Cayennes driving around.

If that doesn't matter to you, go with the 2004 CTT for 53k... It seems much more worth it.

Just my .02 cents.

Thanks everyone....I will pass on the "new" 05 for 79K...maybe I will make him an offer of 74K. Would 74K be a good buy?

If not it looks like I will be getting the 04. I will try to make arrangements by Sat to pick it up.

Wow....20 K off.....Of course that is 20K off 119K....not 20Koff 98K...but still, very impressive.

I left a voice mail for the sales manager...Offered him 74K. Lets see if he bites. One thing about the 100 mile 05 I am interested is that it is exactly what I want in terms of color and options. The 04 for 53 is close (doesn't have the burl steering wheel etc).

Well I discussed the fact that 06's were getting discounted 20K w/ the sales guy at Momentum...he said I had bad info.

Should I e-mail him the link to the dealers offering 20K off?

I offered him 74 K and he declined.

I am arranging to pick up the late model 04 (just got a clean car fax on it....it was built/completed on 1/31 04) w/ 27.5K miles for 53K this Sat. It is from a fellow 6speed member who has had all TSB's adressed. I think I am making the right decision.

You've also got a million miles on your 575!

Jitsu, now that the M5 is out of the way I'd go with the 05 CTT. There's no investment quality in a Cayenne, so a few compromises would allow you to make the better decision, monetarily speaking.
