Dension wiring from trunk to cabin

Does anyone have experience running a wire from the trunk to the cabin?

I went to my local dealer today and asked the srvice guy (not a tech, it was after 5:00pm) and he said there is a gromit on the pasenger side to pass though. He said it would take them an hour to run the cable which means $ out of my pocket.

I have installed the Dension unit in my trunk above the nav system and would like to run the iPod cable into the car on the passenger side, maybe into the glove box or to the center console armrest. I did not see an obvoius way to run the wire so I settled with the ipod in the trunk. Being that I listen to alot of podcasts I have to open my trunk more than I would like (life is tough) and fixing this would make me very satisfied with my setup.

Pictures and any help would be greatly appreciated to me and others with thishardship in this cruel world.

Also, Maybe tis is a question to Eric but... Can you buy an extention chord to make the iPod cable longer? Is it a USB cable I can buy at any store?

As you can tell I may be slightly lazy and cheap.

Here is my setup...

Hope these picks work.

Thanks.

I ran two wires for a USB and an XM radio. It is not hard if you have some mechanical inclination. I don't have an I-POD.

1. I had to loosen the box to the left of the Nav DVD. I did not remove it just needed a little bit of working room behind it. If I remember correctly the L bracket holding it on will slide off. There is about a 2" rubber seal in the bulkhead that can be cut through with a razor to slide the wires through.(The box I am referirng to is located directly below your CD player so you will need remove that to get to it)

2. Remove the Battery.

3. Locate a similar rubber plug behind the Battery above the drivers feet. Make a slit slide your wires through and go from there.

You may need to order the extension cable for the I-Pod. I am prettuy sure the the one that comes with the Dension is too short

Not that I could find. I think the same hole on the Passenger side is used for some A/C plumbing and or wiring.

Everything just look more accesible to me on the driver side.
