Video: Autocrossing the 2017 Fiat 124 Spider Abarth
Last week was one of those weeks that reminded me what it was like to be in high school and get excited over jumping behind the wheel of a car.
The magic that is driving eventually wears off as one transitions into adulthood and driving a car means going to work, running chores and hauling the kids around. What once was a special moment of freedom, eventually turns into, meh.
The kid inside me was ecstatic about getting the chance to jump behind the wheel of the 2017 Fiat 124 Spider, but even more so the hot 124 Spider Abarth model. After all, what’s there not to love about an Italian-inspired roadster with a scorpion badge?
While the non-Abarth 124 Spider is as good as it gets for non-luxury roadsters, the Abarth offers a throaty exhaust note, a loud turbo blow off valve, and steering and chassis feedback that’s pretty much unheard of nowadays.
