2020 Corvette Convertible is Here--And it is Awesome!

We were on the scene to see the new C8 Corvette droptop. With its styling and price tag, it truly delivered a direct strike at supercars.

Our partner site, Corvette Forum, had quite a night. They were in Cape Canaveral, Florida for a thrilling launch: The 2020 C8 Corvette Convertible. This year has been a memorable and historic one for Corvette fans. We got not one, but two, amazing debuts. If the 2020 Corvette Stingray got your pulse racing, you might need to sit down for the C8 Corvette.

It is an incredible car. The styling is sleek, the technology is brilliant, and the performance is high-caliber. Oh, and it comes in under $68,000 dollars.

Under the hood, the 2020 convertible uses the C8 platform; the all-new 6.2-liter V8. Paired to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic, this delivers an outstanding drive. And there is no lack of power here. It produces 490 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque stock, and 495 horsepower and 470 ft-lbs with the addition of the optional Z51 Performance Package.

The mechanism for the convertible is brilliantly engineered, and gets you topless in just about 16 seconds.
