Abomination or Beauty? Hoffman & Novague R200 is an Absurd Audi R8
This is actually an Audi R8. No really, under its burnt orange skin, there lies a chassis and engine from a first generation Audi R8. Why anyone would go and carve up the gorgeous lines of that beautiful car is beyond me, but this is, in all respects, and Audi R8, but not really anymore.
This is the R200 by Hoffman & Novague, and is said to take inspiration from the original Skoda 130 RS from the 1980s. The entire car has been stripped of its Audi body, and rebuilt using aluminum and carbon fiber. It’s described as having a retro front end due to the sharp features and round headlights. It’s an odd duck this car, and I’m not sure if I love it or I want to pour gasoline on it and destroy it with fire. It’s a very polarizing type of car.
Thankfully, Hoffman & Novague didn’t touch the R8’s glorious V8 motor so it continues to make around 430 horsepower and additionally kept the gated manual gearbox. What do you all think? Abomination or beauty?
