The Nissan GT-R You’ll Want to Keep Forever

Forget the current Nissan GT-R, it’s a video game on wheels, and doesn’t exactly offer the same driving sensation you’d get in any other normal track focused car. It’s devoid of a soul, and makes drivers look better than they actually are.

Personally, if you haven’t already guessed, I don’t like the Nissan GT-R. It’s just too fake, and in a world where the Ariel Atom, Chevy Camaro Z/28, and Porsche GT3 RS exist, why even consider something that just doesn’t tick any of the boxes adequately.

But that wasn’t always the case. Nissan used to make brilliant GT-Rs. The company was the absolute king when it came to AWD turbo monsters, that not only were stupendous in their dynamics, but also made you fall in love with the car’s soul. Something that can’t be said about the current car.

Evo’s Jethro Bovigdon has been out taking the most special of those original GT-Rs to its limits, the GT-R Nismo 400R. It was a car to celebrate Nissan’s Le Mans efforts and remains to this day one of the best cars ever to come out of Nissan’s factories.
