Photo Gallery: A Nearly $60 Million Dollar 1964 Ferrari 250 GTO
You may already know that the Ferrari 250 GTO is among the most expensive vehicles in the world, if not the most. Regardless whether it is a 1962 or 1964, the cash that one of these beauties commands is stratospheric even for the wealthiest of collectors.
According to the exclusive British auction house, Talacrest, a lovely and very blue 1964 Ferrari 250 GTO has just been listed for sale, though the asking price has not been listed publicly. The glamorous racer has been in the hands of a Washington-based owner for the last 19 years, and needless to say, it’s probably been the best investment that guy has ever made.
This particular GTO was the very first of the family of Berlinettas to go racing in the world-stage, piloted by Phill Hill and Olivier Gendebien at the 12 Hours of Sebring in Florida, where it placed second. That was just one of the many famous races this chassis No. 3387 competed in, and if that wasn’t enough for its illustrious pedigree, this is also the second 250 GTO ever produced. Yes, the second ever. Based on said facts, experts have rumored the list price to be between $56 and $60 million dollars. That’s. $60. Million. Dollars.
