6SpeedOnline Joins Internet Truth Machine about 911 Turbo 1/4 Mile Times
6SpeedOnline is full of smart members, and as such, one guy’s 9 second pass in his Porsche 911 Turbo was briefly congratulated, but then quickly condemned for being a fraud. Something compelled this guy to post not just one, but two different fake time slips in an online community that he was familiar with.
Keen eyed users of our forums noticed an odd similarity to a Nissan GTR time slip from another forum. In fact, it matched reaction time, ET and even margin of victory to which ever car was in the other lane. Odd, considering the user had quite a bit of upgrades and shouldn’t really have to “fake” his way into the 9’s. It was then found out that yet another time slip was faked from this same user.
The unfortunate victim in all of this is that vendor. ByDesign didn’t deserve to be stuck in the crosshairs of one guy’s poor attempt at fooling our members. Thankfully a rep for ByDesign set the record straight and did so before the forum admins decided if it would be a good idea to remove the entire thread. Ultimately, the admins have kept it open as an example of how not to behave online.
