GT3 Named Road & Track’s Performance Car of the Year
The new 991 GT3 is an excellent car. It’s unbelievably fast, it handles like a dream, and no longer has the tendency for self-immolation. Thankfully. Now though, it has earned even more praise from Road & Track who named the new Porsche its “Performance Car of the Year.” Not bad!
The 991 GT3 went up against a serious group of performance vehicles, things like the Ferrari 458 Speciale, the Viper TA, the Z/28, and a whole group of other cars. However, the car took top honors due to its, “howling 9000-rpm redline and phenomenal handling.”
Most of all though, the magazine cited the overall speed that this car can carry, it still is the benchmark of performance said the release. The GT3 since its original debut has made mincemeat of its competition, and this year had to go up against one of the strongest fields of cars ever put against it.
While we haven’t tested the new GT3 for ourselves yet, we have tested some of its competitors and for the GT3 to come out on top of this group, the car has to be absolutely epic. Hopefully, we can get one in soon to give you the full lowdown on Porsche’s newest supercar.
