Amazing Vintage Ferrari Trio Get Auctioned Online
Three incredible Ferrari classics, destined to make any collector happy, recently showed up for bidding at Stratas Auctions.
Vintage and classic vehicles constantly find their way to the auction block. However, it’s quite rare when truly stellar models surface regularly. Carefully preserved examples of well-loved nameplates always deserve a shout out. Especially when they wear a Ferrari badge.
In this case, that’s exactly what happened. Stratas Auctions featured 3 fantastic Ferrari finds. Are they without peers? Based on their condition, that’s likely the case. Even though they’re not perfect, the trio look great and are ready to roll.
1966 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 Series II
The oldest Ferrari of the bunch no doubt pleased all of its owners since it first left the dealer lot. Speaking of its prior handlers, 1 of them repainted the Ferrari 330 GT from its original Oro Chiaro to black in 1989. Fortunately, the current owner corrected that egregious mistake and restored it to its original glory. Additionally, the seats, which had also been switched out at some point, received a new Rosso leather treatment. Essentially, this 330 GT is now back to its original factory configuration. That’s a good thing too. As noted by Stratas Auctions, the combination of Oro Chiaro paint and Rosso leather is rare. The entire drivetrain received a complete rebuild as well.
Although it features some minor exterior blemishes, the car is in exceptional condition. The recently restored interior looks absolutely stunning. Perhaps because of the unconventional pairing of interior and exterior colors, the Ferrari failed to sell, although it did receive a single bid for $200k. Perhaps it will show up again in the future.
Ferrari 1974 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS
Not to be outdone, this stunning Ferrari Dino 246 GTS also went up for auction. Painted in the incomparable Rosso Rubino, it comes equipped with an important option package. Ferrari created the “Chairs and Flares” option to outfit the Dino with some very nice upgrades. Included in the package were specially upholstered leather seats, wider tires and wheels, and flared wheel arches to compensate for the aforementioned additions. This particular model exchanged hands quite a bit before meeting its current owner. Although that person purchased the Ferrari back in 2010. It also received new paint some time in the past. Aside from some minor paint flaws, it remains in excellent condition.
The official bidding page notes some wear around places owners touched while driving, like the seats and the shifter. That being said, everything else looks great. The vehicle is said to be in good mechanical condition too. It seems as though this example failed to meet its bid however. The auction ended on October 1 after several bids, the last for $175k.
1976 Ferrari 308 GTB Vetroresina
This Ferrari 308 is the youngest of the bunch by manufacturing date and miles driven. It’s also the rarest. Ferrari only produced 100 U.S. spec variants of these fiberglass models before switching over to a steel body setup for the 1977 model year. Additionally, it comes clad in all-original Giallo Fly paint, an iconic color. While there are signs of age, it still looks absolutely incredible.
Inside, it is clear some items have worn a bit, but the Ferrari is still excellently preserved and in showroom condition. It is hard to imagine any other model from the same year in similar condition after 44 years of use. Clearly, this 308, having traveled just over 14k miles, received excellent care under its past owners. Bidding ends on October 2. As of this writing, the highest bid stands at $25k. Given the rarity of this model, it’s perfectly understandable that the reserve is higher than that offer. Presumably, more bids will take place before the auction ends.
Stratas Auctions recently pivoted to digital auctions. Since launching their site, they’ve featured a plethora of stunning collectibles. Hopefully, they keep hosting more classic Ferrari models. In any event, we’re exited for their future offerings. Make sure to check out each auction’s listing to get the full details on these wonderful machines.
