AMS Performance Alpha Omega 7.98 World Record

The Nissan GT-R is at it again, mesmerizing the world in as little as seven seconds. Say “hello” to the world’s fastest Nissan GT-R, called the “Alpha Omega”.

This GT-R was tuned by Alpha Performance, a company known for its accomplishments in building the first nine and eight-second GT-Rs. Now Alpha Performance can also claim building the first seven-second GT-R. Alpha Omega recently ran the quarter mile in 7.98 seconds at 186 mph. The street-legal Alpha Omega’s heart-squashing performance can be attributed to its 4.0L (up 0.2L from stock) twin-turbo V6 shoving 1,700 to 1,800 horsepower through all four of the car’s 18-inch drag radials. Alpha Omega’s rear parachute is detachable, too, giving this GT-R a sweet sleeper disposition.

With GT-R quarter-mile times hurtling downward with the intensity of satellite shrapnel through the atmosphere, we are anticipating the inevitable first-ever six-second GT-R, but can that car remain street-legal? We shall see.
