Aston Martin Shocks Geneva with All-Electric DBX Concept
Unlike many big reveals at auto shows, this Aston Martin reveal no one saw coming. And that’s a good thing. This is the new Aston Martin DBX Concept and it’s definitely a departure from the normal fair that Aston Martin builds.
First off, there’s no monstrous V12 sitting in front of the driver. Rather, Aston Martin has fitted this DBX Concept with an electric powertrain. No word on how many motors or how much horsepower the car would have if it went into production, but given that this is Aston Martin we’re talking about. It will be sufficient.
The DBX Concept heads into the same type of field that Range Rover delved into with the Evoque. It’s a smaller two door coupe with more ground clearance that allows the AWD system in the DBX Concept to work its magic no matter what the terrain.
According to Andy Palmer of Aston Martin, the DBX Concept “broaden’s the appeal of Aston Martin to a whole new generation of customers, but sits with pride alongside the rest of our range.”
So what do you think about this all-electric Aston Martin? Does it deviate too far from Astons of the past, or is this just the way of the future?
