The Audi R8 Safety Car Had More Fun Than Anybody at Le Mans

The Ford GT took the number one spot at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, competing alongside other fantastic cars like the Corvette C7.R, the 488 GTE, the 911 RSR, and the Vantage GTE. Coincidentally, though, none of those cars or manufacturers are the ones having the most fun this past weekend. That title belongs to the Audi R8 safety car that’s been running around  in the dreary weather.

During a red flag at a practice session, the R8, which has Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system, either lost a bit of control during the hard rain or was making the best of the circumstances with some playful driving. Either way, the resulting video footage is pretty awesome, especially with the lights going and all.

According to Motor Authority, four-time Le Mans champion Yannick Dalmas might have been the one driving, but that’s unconfirmed.
