Autoweek – Official Photos: 2015 Lamborghini Huracán
And poof. Just like that, the official veil has been lifted on the 601-hp 5.2-liter V-10 powered Huracan – Lamborghini’s highly anticipated successor to the Gallardo.
It’s got some huge shoes to fill: the Gallardo is indisputably Lamborghini’s strongest selling model to date. These first official photos of the Huracan definitely invoke a feeling that the Hurricane (literal Spanish translation) is up to the challenge. The 200 mph-plus entry level Lambo will make its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2014 with North American sales starting the second half of 2014.
The first model, labeled with an LP610-4 moniker will be available in four-wheel drive only. Like the Gallardo, a lighter rear-wheel drive version will be available in 2015. Overall, the shape of the Gallardo’s successor retains the distinct wedge that Lamborghini has always been known for.
The front fascia and headlights have been given a downsize and streamlined treatment, and the dramatic lines continue through the appearance to finish off with styling cues borrowed from the Huracan’s now older sibling, the Aventador.
