Is the Aventador S the Best Lamborghini Yet?

No one does theater like Lamborghini and the Aventador.

In this new video from Mr. JWW, the mister himself heads down to Lamborghini of Pangbourne to test-drive the new Aventador S. He’d driven the SuperVeloce variant before and while he called it “worth the money,” he wasn’t a fan of the car’s jerky transmission and far too stiff for comfort suspension setup. The Aventador SV is a bit too harsh of a car for proper grand touring. However, it’s clear from a single drive that the Aventador S fixes all of that nonsense to provide a truly amazing Lamborghini experience.

While every other supercar manufacturer is adding turbos and lopping cylinders from their fastest cars, Lamborghini has thus far stayed steadfast in their dedication to the mid-engine, naturally-aspirated V12. As they mention in the video, there are only a few supercars where you can still find such a thing, and they all cost millions of dollars. By that logic, the Aventador, and most especially the Aventador S, is a veritable bargain. Instead of getting a LaFerreri, or an Aston Valkyrie, just pop down to your local Lambo atelier and pick up an Aventador.

Sure, there are a few faster cars out there, but not that many. With a sub-3-second 0-60 time and a quarter mile sprint happening in just ten and a half seconds, the Aventador S is also quicker and faster than a lot of cars costing a whole lot more. With a more compliant suspension setup (thanks to the Ego switch), and even cooler wheels, the Aventador S is most definitely a better road-going beast than the SV. Naturally, on track we’d have to tip our hats to the SuperVeloce instead. Based solely on the reactions of JWW here in this video, we need to get our hands on an Aventador S and soon!
