Suck It Prius! Bentley Motors Wins a Big Fancy Environmental Award
In an age where carbon emissions, low environmental impact, and fuel economy are king, you think of the forward thinkers as Toyota, Honda, Tesla, not Bentley.
When you think of Bentley you think of land yachts, cars that are essential to a state of being that most mortals will never attain. Pure luxury, pure comfort, pure power! Again, not environmentalism. But that isn’t the case anymore.
Bentley Motors has now been working with the Carbon Trust, an organization that helps companies and governments move toward more viable environmentally stable practices, and just received their triple Carbon Trust Award for their environmental achievements from 2011-13.
In a move to be more environmentally friendly, Bentley has brought down CO2 emissions from both its cars and production a combined 16%, installed 20,000 solar cells, and reduced its water consumption by 35.7% and waste water production by 100%.
Sometimes life just doesn’t match up to what your perception of what reality actually is. But it goes to show you that the old adage of what’s the most fuel efficient car?
An old Aston Martin, it never moves which means it gets great gas mileage over its life. Bentley took that adage, but actually made a car that’s able to do both. So next time you’re in a Prius or someone in a Prius is talking down to you, just tell them that Bentleys are better for the environment than it is. That will shut them up.
Agree to disagree in the forum. 😛 >>
