BMW M8 GTE Driver Gives Us the Middle Finger
What could make a man so angry as to do this while driving a stunning BMW M8 race car? Ah, racing drivers…
Okay, maybe Martin Tomczyk wasn’t really giving us the middle finger, but we highly suggest he uses a different finger for his upshifts. After all, what are BMW’s sponsors going to think?
Let’s address the important bits now, such as the track monster that is the new BMW M8 GTE race car. This footage uploaded by BMW Motorsport transports us to the very first official test of the all-new racer, which took place a week or so ago according to the video’s description.
It’s unclear where the test took place, and even our expert eyes couldn’t quite figure out the location based on the grandstands or curbing. Regardless, this video raises a few questions about the upcoming BMW M8. For starters, this race car will compete in the 2018 FIA World Endurance Championship GTE-Pro class. GTE class means a street version has to be mass-produced in order to be homologated for competition. Hmm…
Last time we checked, the street version of the BMW M8 isn’t for sale yet. Could BMW really be pushing the envelope with testing and holding private, single car sessions ahead of time? Heck, we haven’t even seen the M8 without funky and swirly camouflage plastered all over its body.
Based on what little BMW’s let out, the upcoming 8-Series will be a serious machine, but we just wished we weren’t being teased so much.
