BMW Unveils Zagato Roadster
McLaren might’ve stolen the show when it came to new product, but BMW also had a special set of wheels to display in Monterrey. A few months ago they were showing off the beautiful coachbuilt Zagato coupe. For the concourse, they brought out the topless version. BMW has been following the trend of designing the convertible before the coupe for good reason. Not only does the convertible look beautiful, but it’s every bit as capable as the hard-top version.
Our hope is that they use these two design exercises as the basis for the next Z4s and M coupes. For one, it would help bring some of the sporting spirit back to BMW’s softening lineup. Also, they’re gorgeous. Maybe they should just build these and call it a day. I’m not sure anyone would complain.
