Is the Bugatti Chiron a Proper Machine, or a Rebadged Veyron?
Beautiful, Enlightening, and Even Inspirational. That’s How We Feel About This Video Highlighting the Bugatti Veron and Chiron
The Bugatti Veyron was most certainly the world’s first hypercar. We know a lot of you would disagree. After all, the Porsche 959, the McLaren F1, and the Enzo Ferrari achieved levels of performance most thought impossible. But, all of the above accomplished so by forfeiting comfort, and many of daily life’s conveniences. Not the Veyron.
The quad-turbo, 16.4-liter, 16-cylinder engine in the Veyron SS pumped out a mind-boggling 1,200 horsepower. Furthermore, Jethro Bovingdon from DRIVETRIBE had the chance to get behind the wheel of the Veyron SS Vitesse, and explains how wrong most owners were to park this outside the Casino in Monte Carlo. It’s a car meant to be driven and enjoyed.
After a short stint with the Veyron, Bovingdon had the very special opportunity to ride with Bugatti test driver Loris Bicocchi. A veteran test driver for Lamborghini, Pagani, and even Koenigsegg, Bicocchi knows what’s right and what’s wrong on a car of this caliber, and thankfully, Bugatti listened.
Being the man with one of the coolest jobs in the world isn’t always fun. In addition, he must prove his findings to engineers and other Bugatti staff, hoping they listen and approve. Bicocchi goes on to speak about the four-wheel drive bias of the Chiron, and how he desired it to be primarily rear biased. As a result, Bugatti listened and the Chiron only sends up to 30 percent of power to the front wheels.
