Bugatti Veyron Rockets Around Rally Stage Because It Can
The “WRC” in Bugatti Veyron GS Vitesse WRC doesn’t stand for World Rally Championship. But maybe it should.
It was but a few years ago that the world was treated to the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse WRC. Which isn’t just a large number of words for a car model, mind you. In this case, that particular acronym stands for “World Record Champion,” a reference to the car’s then record-setting top speed of 254.04 mph. What it doesn’t stand for, of course, is World Rally Championship, though we can understand why someone might be a little confused. But no one is crazy enough to actually rally a Bugatti Veyron, are they?
Well, maybe so. YouTuber TheTFJJ recently got a chance to do just that at the Heveningham Concours, so why not? Sure, we’re talking about a million dollar car designed to go fast in a straight line, but that doesn’t mean you can’t flog it on a World Rally Stage. After all, this thing is all-wheel drive and has a stout 1,200 horsepower at its disposal. And what fun is it to keep something like this locked up in some kind of hermetically sealed chamber?
Yes, even the mighty Bugatti Veyron was built to be driven, not stored away like some kind of mummified relic. And needless to say, this one gets driven, and it gets driven hard. Right off the bat we witness a bonkers acceleration run, followed by some dusty donuts. Followed, of course, by some high speed drifting and plenty of chuckles from both driver and passenger.

Many will cringe at such a sight, but we think it’s something we should certainly see more of. Because, like they say, you can’t take things like money or a Bugatti Veyron with you when you die. So, let some other crusty collector store his priceless supercar away in a museum. We prefer to drive our cars, and drive them hard!
