Bunker Customs Announces Itself to the World with This Sick Custom Yamaha XSR700

Two brothers, a professional Vans skateboarder and a former digital advertiser, might have just become your new favorite motorcycle customizers. Can and Mert Uzer call themselves Bunker Customs, they’re based out of Istanbul, Turkey, and they hand-built this gorgeous Yamaha XSR700.

We can thank Yamaha for noticing the talent and bringing it to the light. The company saw Bunker’s rendition of a Yamaha SR500 and invited them to be part of a custom series Yamaha does called Yard Built. An XSR700 was dropped off at the Bunker shop, and they were given freedom to design what they wanted.

“We went for the tracker style as we really wanted to capture the spirit of freedom as much as possible,” the Uzers said. “The twin motor is the perfect base with its engine characteristics and the bike inspires you to create something light, agile and free.”

A tracker-style bike requires ground clearance and all-terrain capabilities. So Bunker raised the seat position and threw on Renthal handle bars. They relocated the exhaust (with hand-made stainless steel piping that uses a Akrapovič catalytic convertor) to a higher position, replaced the forks with MT-09 Tracer upside down forks, and put added Super Ténére wheels (17-inch in rear, 19-inch in front) with Goldentyre GT201 tires.

The tank and panels are also all custom. Can and Mert hand-beat 2mm aluminum into the fuel tank covers, side panels, mudguards, radiator covers, and seat plate. The look was completed with the suede leather seat, a halo lamp, and the blue stripe (giggity). Bunker took a few pieces out of the Yamaha catalog, including the billet clutch and brake levers, the foot pegs, and the side stand.
