How many times have you had the chance to buy a nearly two decade old car directly from the factory and with minimal mileage? Not often, but then again, the McLaren F1 isn’t just any car…
Perhaps the supercar of the century, the McLaren F1 was produced from late 1991 until right before the turn of the century, and its 106 total examples are coveted as some of the most collectable, and priciest machinery in the automotive world.
Whether it’s the impressive performance, the looks, or simply the fact that the driver sits right smack in the middle of the cabin like in a Formula One car, the McLaren F1 has haunted the dreams of rival car companies, and the bedroom walls most current thirty-ish year olds.
This particular McLaren is chassis #69, and is being sold directly by McLaren Special Operations with a crazy-low 2,800 miles in the odometer. Even crazier is what RM Auctions expects it’ll go for considering previous examples have circled around the 12 to 15 million dollar mark. That being said, this example may bring more money simply because it’s been a long time since an F1 has become available, and connoisseurs don’t foresee another pristine example being offered anytime soon.
