New Ferrari CEO Spills the Beans on LaFerrari Spider
Well, technically the new Ferrari CEO is the old Ferrari CEO, and maybe it’d be more fitting to say he spilled the fagioli instead of beans. Anyhow…
Sergio Marchionne, current CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, old and new Ferrari CEO, ruthless business person, and diehard Formula One fan, has just confirmed a rumor that has been circulating social media for a good month or so, as potential customers for the Spider version of the LaFerrari uploaded photos of the magical and mysterious, “LaFerrari Spider box.”
The carbon fiber box top displayed above, is what a handful of potential customers selected by Ferrari received from Maranello. Inside the box lays a red key, which isn’t to an actual unit, but simply a symbolical reference saying “you hold the key to our next hypercar.”
In an interview with Automobile Magazine, Marchionne rattled off about the Spider version of the La Ferrari like it was no big deal, once again saying that most people knew already due to the potential customers sharing their photos on social media.
Still, there are no specifics on design, performance, price, or even when said model will go on sale. So there’s actually a bit of mystery left, imagine that!
So here’s a breakdown of the news; the new Ferrari CEO, which is the same as the old Ferrari CEO, makes headlines for confirming the production of a car that we already knew about from a while back.
That’s your daily dose of weird news from Italy…
