Chris Harris Spanks a Rally Porsche
In WRC, AWD dominates the overall championship. It’s just the price of doing business when your business is rally. That however might now be changing.
With the introduction of the Toyota backed TRG GT86, RWD rally cars are making a comeback. While not yet ready for contention with the big dogs, it’s signaling a return of the rooster tail RWD class that dominated for quite some time.
One other return to rally, while in the privateer class, is Porsche. Many out there don’t know that Porsche actually had a long and storied history in rally.
Everyone just thinks of them as strictly a tarmac racing company. Long ago though, that wasn’t always the case. And these guys here are aiming to bring back that rally heritage by building a fully spec’d out RGT 997 RS 4.0 Cup car into a rally car.
