A Classic Skyline Goes Under the Gavel
The new Nissan Skyline GT-R is among the best supercars on the planet. It’s cost is better than most supercars, and frequently dominates in terms of performance cars worth ten times its cost.
However, most don’t know the true heritage that this car actually has. Thankfully, there are those that do and are ready to showcase that heritage whenever possible.
This is a prime example of that heritage. What you are looking at is a 1968 Nissan Skyline Hakosuka. It was essentially the fastest version of the Skyline you could buy in 1968.
It featured a dual over-head cam 2.0L inline six cylinder engine, making a grand total of 160 horsepower. Which in today’s terms is slow, but in 1968, this car was a screamer.
The pristine example you see before you is actually going up for auction later this month in Arizona with RM Auctions. Auction estimates are between $100,000 to $150,000, but seeing as the classic Japanese market has been trending up greatly in the past few years, it could easily go for more.
