Clean Porsche 997 Might Just Represent Rock Bottom Prices
Outside of semi-high mileage, there’s nothing we don’t like about this ultra sanitary Porsche 997 911. Including the price!
In the ever-changing market of the Porsche 911, nothing good lasts forever. You used to be able to buy safety bumper air-cooled cars at reasonable prices, but even that ship has sailed. And just forget about picking up a clean 964 for a good price. Right now, the Porsche 997 is probably your best bet, and they’re mostly dirt cheap. And hey, they have round headlights, not those weird “cracked egg” things ruining the front of the 996!
OK, so maybe there’s nothing wrong with the 996’s face. But we still prefer the look of the Porsche 997 911, and most would agree. And when you can score a clean, 6-speed manual, daily-driven example like this Seal Grey beauty we spotted at Bring a Trailer. Selling for just $28,000, this particular 997 may represent the bottoming out on 997 prices.
But is this finally rock bottom for the Porsche 997, or will the limbo bar fall even lower? Only time will tell. For now, we just know that this super clean example looks like a heck of a deal. Sure, it’s got 121,000 miles on the clock. But it was also owned by a PCA member who obviously lovingly cared for it. And it’s got a full service history from legendary Brumos Motors of Jacksonville.
A Brumos tech bought the car from the original owner as a gift for his mother, who then sold it to the dealer offering it up on BaT. And despite the mileage, clear protective film has mostly spared the body from damage. With the Sport Chrono package, added 19-inch wheels, and H&R springs, we’re betting it’s a fun daily, too.
With an original MSRP of $87,000, one could call this Porsche 997 a deal. And it also might be a sign that the market for these underappreciated models has finally bottomed out!
