Custom Cayman GTR Is Matt Farah’s Latest One Take

Magic happens Porsche tuners decide to create the perfect Cayman.

If you don’t know about the wild Cayman GTR build from Road Scholars, you need to sit down for a second. Actually, grab some paper towels for that drool while you’re at it. In short, the Cayman GTR is possibly the world’s best Porsche, that Stuttgart refuses to build.

The base is a Cayman, the best handling and balanced Porsche that exists today. To that base, we get all-new body work, front to back. The only exterior panel that wasn’t changed in some way was the front hood. That serves to widen the car, making room for larger tires. You’ll find Lamborghini-esque 325s out back. Tucked inside the wheels are the carbon brakes from a GT3 RS, and keeping it all attached to the rest of the chassis is the suspension from the 911 GT3 Cup Car. The nose of the car has also been swapped over to a GT3 unit, giving it proper 911 aero and menace. Hiding between the rear fenders, sitting just behind the cabin is a flat-six motor that was stolen from a Carrera S, and then bored over to 4.2-liters. Power is claimed at “over 400” at the wheels, but they haven’t properly tested it yet.

So it’s the best pieces from the best 911s, all crammed into the best chassis. We told you, this is basically the best Porsche ever. Although we would like to see the 500hp GT3 RS 4.0-liter motor in it.

If you wonder just how well a thing like this drives, Matt Farah has you covered. He has a full One-Take video that shows off the car inside and out.
