I have always been way more interested in cars that bikes, but every time I see the elegant simplicity of a café racers, I can’t help myself but to stop and stare. Of all the various bikes from this era, my favorites are the machines based on the classic Hondas. The CB550 and CB750 as well as the old CL Scramblers make for some of the most gorgeous bikes. If you dare question that fact, I would ask that you take one look at this CB550 that was built by Lossa Engineering.

To my eyes, this is one of the most perfect creations of two-wheeled art. Despite a huge collection of improvements like custom headers and exhaust, racing carburetors, modern reservoir shocks and LED lighting, this bike still maintains the retro feel that makes these bikes so desired to start with. It’s as if they took the original idea of what the CB550 should have been, and they willed it into reality.

That custom hand-created paint work doesn’t hurt anything either. I personally love how if you look close you can see imperfections in the striping and line work that give it that handmade feel.

If you don’t think this bike is perfect, we can’t be friends anymore.
