Deadmau5 Presents… A Nyancat Ferrari Italia

Whether the above photo makes you laugh or cry, my gut tells me that’s just the response Canadian music producer, Joel Zimmerman wanted to elicit when he followed through with an October 2013 promise to deck his Ferrari 458 Italia out in a Nyan Cat vinyl wrap.

Joel, better known as Deadmau5, is an electronic music producer (EDM makes me cringe more than an afternoon watching Worldstar Hip Hop), and is best known for his brash, middle fingers in the air persona.

Joel’s built a wildly successful career around (or despite) his tendency to call out the underlying workings of the dance music industry, trolling his fellow “manufacturered” musicians, and being a general PR nightmare.

But honestly, that’s what I love about the Mau5. Amazingly, his don’t give a flying f*ck attitude doesn’t seem to impede the growth of his fanbase and this beautifully hilarious Nyan Cat wrapped 458 Italia is a great personification of his self-branded love for trolling.

Interstingly enough, Zimmerman is also confirmed to be entering the Gumball 3000 rally, piloting a BAC Mono. Here’s to hoping he vinyl wraps that too.
