Delta Airlines and Porsche Are Offering GT3 RS Rides at LAX

Select and unsuspecting Delta passengers with tight connecting flights might get the best shuttle at LAX: a 992 Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

Flying can be stressful and taxing, especially if you have a connecting flight. If you’ve ever been to LAX, too, you’re likely aware that it does a great job of adding to that stress. However, certain Delta Airlines passengers are getting a pretty unique opportunity thanks to a partnership with Porshe. Why take a tram or walk through the terminal when you can blitz down the runway tarmac in the passenger seat of a 992 GT3 RS?

For over a decade, Porsche and Delta Airlines have had a partnership. If you’re a regular flyer, you may notice a fleet of Porsche Cayenne models ferrying Delta Elite customers from flight to flight. Every once in a while, they do some pretty crazy things. This certainly qualifies as one of those times! Now through February 26th, “select” and “unsuspecting” Delta guests will be offered a chance to make their connecting flight in a Delta-branded GT3 RS.

You’ll Certainly Make Your Flight

Though it doesn’t quite have the same overall top speed as the Boeing 737 it sits with in these photos, the 911 GT3 RS is certainly going to move you around faster than those moving walkways in the airport or the tedious terminal trams with magnifying glass windows. Instead, being in the passenger seat of a 518-horsepower track weapon with air conditioning sounds like a dream come true.

The only thing they could have possibly done to make it cooler would be to partner with Leerjet, too. That way, the Porsche takes you to your chartered private jet with a waiting glass of champagne at your seat. Daydreams aside, there actually was one instance where Porsche and Delta teamed up that, in our humble opinion, is even cooler.

This Isn’t the First Time!

Back in August 2023, Porsche and Delta Airlines teamed up for a similar scenario. In Atlanta, some Delta Elite customers got the chance to ferry between their planes in a Porsche 918. As much as we love the GT3 RS, it’s hard not to think that, given the choice, we’d take the 918. Although, if we could pick any Porsche, maybe a 959 would ensure maximum comfort between flights?

At any rate, if you’re flying through LAX and you’re an established Delta customer, keep your eyes peeled. If you’ve got Delta status racked up and you’re not planning on flying, though, this might be the perfect excuse to book yourself a vacation. Go on! You’ve earned it!
