Drive’s Chris Harris Tests the 2013 Boxster S

Unlike a certain other video I posted about the Boxster, this video is actually in English–British English even!–so I can understand it! Brilliant!  Anyway, I’ve always thought the characterization of the Boxster as a “hairdressers car” was unfair.

Like the similarly maligned MX5, I think most of the people who make that argument don’t know a hell of a lot about cars. And given most of the replies on this hilariously titled thread, the vast majority of 6Speed members agree with me. So I was curious to see what Drive’s Chris Harris thought of the retooled Boxster S.

Sure, thesis plays to the obvious stereotypes—”has Porsche finally built a Boxster a man can buy?”—and he’s not fond of the precious Sport Chrono Analogue Clock or the electromechanical power steering, but I was surprised at how much he seems to love the entry-level Porsche. And why shouldn’t he? It’s lighter, faster, and wrapped in sexier sheetmetal. Sounds like a winning combo to me. Watch the full review below.
