Father Arrested for Letting 9-Year-Old Drive Ferrari F430
Now, putting your child in control of one of the worlds fastest sports cars is probably not the best idea, especially if he’s got his five-year-old brother in the passenger seat. After all, the Ferrari is notably difficult to control even for people who are used to driving sports cars. I know the internet peanut gallery is jumping on this guy pretty hard, but that’s not surprising considering the car and the situation… but allow me to play devils advocate here.
The car is on a private road, for one. This is about as controlled of an environment as one could expect to have outside of a racetrack. Also, the kid does have experience driving other cars with power. According to the video, he’s also been behind the wheel of a Lamborghini, a Bentley coupe… He’s even driven a 911 Turbo. At nine, he’s driven a greater variety of powerful cars than most people have in their entire lives. Even if it is just around the block. He’s not even driving badly here, presumably, because his father taught him how to drive.
His dad is out on bail (a whopping $92) and his Ferrari is impounded, but he’s clearly still being tried in the court of public opinion. What’s your verdict? Let us know in the comments!
