Let’s be brief and get right to it: the Ferrari 488 is one goddamned fast automobile. Why, with it’s twin-turbocharged 3.9L flat-plane crank V8 screaming to 8000RPM, it’s basically the modern day reincarnation of the F40, which some herald as one of the greatest cars of all time. It should come as no surprise then, that even in the hands of a privateer (in this case a journalist of Sport Auto) can set blazing fast lap times. Case in point: today’s hot lap that really ought to be called an on-fire lap is this 7 minute-21 second rip around the Nordschliefe, with the bonus video at the end of an equally bonkers 1:07.0 run around Hockenheim.
