Could This Ferrari Fetch 75 Million at Auction?

Perhaps we will never know, as Preston Henn, its current owner and legendary Ferrari collector refuses to sell it, and for good reason.

This flaming yellow Italian machine is none other than one of the three 1964 Ferrari 275 GTB/C Speciales ever made, and according to its records, it’s the only one with a racing pedigree. The C stands for Competition, as it was design to replace the outgoing 250 GTO and compete in the FIA’s GT class, something which this particular model actually did.

Ferrari overlooked no details when building the 275 GTB/C Speciale, and it fitted extra-thin aluminum panels to reduce weight, high-performance carburetors, and it was one of the first Ferraris with with independent rear suspension. All in all, the 275 GTB/C Speciale was 300 pounds lighter than its non Speciale counterparts, and had 70 more horsepower for a total of 330.

A sister car without racing pedigree sold for 26.4 million back in 2014, and given the recent upswing in value of racing classics, experts speculate that this Ferrari could break the 75 million mark, which is considerably more than the record-holding, 1963 Ferrari GTO, which sold privately for 52 million a couple of years back.

Preston Henn also owns a Ferrari Enzo, FXX, LaFerrari, and eve a Michael Schumacher ex Formula One car.
