Ferrari Has Made A Special F12tdf, And It Is Gorgeous
It’s based on the F12tdf, is called the SP275 RW Competizione, and harks back to the 275 GT. We approve.
Just after Ferrari had announced the J50 commemorative edition 488, they have now announced the SP275 RW Competizione. “SP” in the name stands for Special Projects, which is a division of Ferrari that is willing to take large sums of money in exchange for one-off cars. In this instance, and F12tdf chassis supports the new skin, which has a smoother nose section, and side gills reminiscent of the 275 GTB. Vents are also added to the rear, which work in combination with the swooping rear tail line.
Mechanically, it gets a wider track both front and rear, which works in combination with Virtual Short Wheelbase. Four-wheel-steering technology from VSW is supposed to keep the car tame, but Ferrari have not reigned in the power at all. Power will stay relatively un-changed with the F12tdf’s V12 residing under the hood. Manic thrust is still on-tap, with the 6.2 V12 pushing out 770 raw horsepower to the rear wheels.
One car less than 800 of the standard F12tdf were sold, which makes the SP275 especially rare, since there will be just one. Cost, we assume, will reflect that rarity.
