First Video of the Ferrari 488 GTB Surfaces

For months now, many have been worried that the new Ferrari 488 GTB would sound terrible. Why, because Ferrari is going back to forced induction motors, and with those turbos, you tend to lose some of the exhaust’s note.

Now though, we have the first video of the car driving around the streets of Maranello, and guess what, it still sounds awesome. Have a listen.

The new Ferrari is the first turbocharged Ferrari to come straight from the factory since the now iconic F40. Using a variation of the V8 found in the Ferrari 458 Italia, the Ferrari 488 GTB is set to become the company’s hottest seller and definitely an instant classic.

But in a world where turbo charged Formula 1 engines sound like coked up vacuum cleaners, it’s great to actually hear the car running around. While it’s not the same V8 wail we’ve come to know and love, this car will still have the same soul that its predecessors have.

And just wait till someone sticks a catless, mufflerless exhaust onto it. It’s going to be ridiculous.
