Mercedes-Benz C63s Wagon Drifting Forbidden Drives Motor Trend

In the pilot episode, hosts Tiff Needell and Jonny Smith drive cool cars not sold in America to see if they live up to the hype.

The grass is always greener on the other side, and the cars we don’t get in the U.S. are always better, right? Fast wagons, Utes, off-road legends, and Skyline GTRs are the forbidden fruits of many auto enthusiasts. Are they great cars, or just awesome because we don’t get them?

The pilot episode of Motor Trend on Demand‘s new show, Forbidden Driveshas its two British hosts, Tiff Needell and Jonny Smithtesting super wagons. On one side is an Audi RS6 wagon, boasting 605 horsepower and 553 ft-lbs torque out of a twin turbo V8. On the other side is a Mercedes-Benz C63S wagon with 503 horsepower and 516 ft-lbs torque. Which wagon will they favor? You’ll have to watch the show to find out.

The hosts are former BBC Fifth Gear presenters with polished on-screen personalities. The banter is entertaining and the filming style of the show is television quality. Since Fifth Gear went off the air in May 2016, fans have missed Tiff as a presenter. He is a racing driver and journalist, so he can throw a car around while conveying to an audience how it really feels. This type of presenting is captivating and results in lots of tire-smoking action. Co-host Smith, is a motoring journalist and a bit of comedy relief.
