Ford GT + Norway + Arctic Circle Raceway = Mesmerizing

This could be the only time when your eyes won’t be glued to the Ford GT, but to the breathtaking Atlantic Ocean Road in Norway, plus the other postcard-perfect landscapes.

The Ford GT is a very special car, there is no doubt about that. It’s not the loudest, the fastest, or the most expensive, plus, it’s stuck somewhere in the middle of supercar and hypercar territory. But as many connoisseurs will tell you, none of that matters, because the Ford GT marks a milestone for Ford, and in many ways, for sports cars in general.

This video recently published by Ford Europe manages to capture such essence. As you’ll see, it’s not about the outright speed of the GT, nor about the 647 horsepower that emanates from its highly-tweaked 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6. Heck, it’s not even about the bright yellow paint job with a black racing stripe down the middle. It’s about the feeling it conveys, especially when driven through one of the most captivating stretches of tarmac, like the Atlantic Ocean Road, in one of the most beautiful countries in the world – Norway.

As the video host shares, the relatively short stretch of road was originally intended to serve as a railroad track to connect several Norwegian islands. After the project fell through, a road was built, one with many turns and elevation changes, and a whopping eight bridges in just five miles.

As the road comes to an end, the video focuses on the journey to the Arctic Circle Raceway – the northernmost racetrack in the world, just 19 miles shy of the Arctic Circle. There, the GT is put through its paces, once again proving that modern machinery of this caliber is all about downforce, electronics, and cornering dynamics. So, buckle up for a little bit of hot-lapping, drifting, and some incredible onboard footage.

Enjoy!
